Positive Energy: Attract it!

It’s fascinating how the human brain works. It wasn’t until my father gave me books and explained to me in detail the importance of “positive energy”, “avoiding negative people” and the “law of attraction” that I actually started to apply the tools to help control certain aspects of my life (allow me to explain).

3 years ago I felt as though I was in a rut. I overcame an illness, I was in a job that I liked BUT it wasn’t my career choice, I was dealing with my weight issues and adjusting to dozens of other things. I noticed that my attitude towards certain things was sour. I fueled negative energy and always expected the worst- never “the best”.

I assumed that “it just is what it is”. How can I possibly control these things? Once I told my dad (because I was at my breaking point) how I felt about certain aspects, relationships and what not of my life- he gave me the best advice I could have ever hoped for.

Today on the blog, I share some of the “tools” I’ve used in order to attract more positive energy in my life. Of course, nobody lives a perfect life and I am a prime example on how at times we can slip when trying to apply these tools when we feel overwhelmed in certain areas of our lives. HOWEVER, I cannot stress how important it is to just COMMIT to them.

Remove yourself from negative friendships/relationships and toxic people.
I never knew that I had a negative friend until I started acting and thinking more positive. It wasn’t until then that I started noticing how I FELT when I was around her that I said, wow, she is rather depressing and a [enter cliché] “Debbie Downer”. I am a self-proclaimed over thinker. It’s a horrible habit I am trying to end, but everything takes time. So with over thinking I at times start thinking of negative outcomes. I’ve trained my mind to STOP that as soon as it happens. If a negative thought (past, present or future) comes to mind, stop it with something positive right away and replace it with a positive thought or better yet a goal.

See yourself in that dream home, promotion, achieving a certain weight loss goal or challenge. See yourself there and you are half way there.

Compliment others- sincerely.
If you see someone wearing an outfit that flatters them, compliment them. If someone did an excellent job at work, compliment them on how well they are doing..etc. etc. Most importantly though- make sure that the compliment is sincere. Yesterday I was having an overwhelming day at work and I received an e-mail that thanked me for my hard work and how “wonderful” of a job I was doing and it changed my mood instantly. You have no idea how great compliments make others feel but how great it will make YOU as a person feel.

Gossip Less.
Of course tough for most women but try your best to limit or eliminate in its entirety gossiping. Evaluate yourself after you gossip and how you as a person feel. You’ll probably feel no fulfillment, no gratitude nor will you feel any happiness. Why? Because gossiping is only fueling negativity with negativity.

All in all these tips are here to help you live a better life and feel better as a whole. The more negative you think, act and do, the less chance that anything good will come to you. Be the change you want to see.
