I love sitting down and chatting skin care and make-up with Michelle. Not because she is my cousin and that I simply adore her (hehe) but for the passion and knowledge she feeds you, you almost feel as though you are an expert yourself by the end of the conversation.
I sat down with Michelle as I was curious to know what some of her favourite beauty products were as of recent. She has a way of finding hidden gems and no surprise here- lots of new goodies that I am now going to purchase!
First we begin with some “honest” products that Michelle couldn’t stop raving about. “I first discovered Honest when I was pregnant with Emma, I was looking for a brand that was reliable and free of toxins that are harmful to babies. Once I saw their brand extended to household, cleaning and wellness products- I just HAD to try them.”
“The Hand Sanitizer Spray is great for travel and doesn’t dry our your hands which is a plus for me. It’s free of harsh chemicals and is made with natural plant-based protection. Another one of my favourite discoveries is the fruit and veggie spray. It’s crazy how much dirt, wax, pesticides and pathogens are on our fruit and veggies. This spray REALLY helps and is easy to use. On fruits like apples, plums etc. I just give it a spray, scrub and rinse. With berries, I spray and rinse and pat dry. No odor or taste.”Also one of my favourites, Michelle mentions that Josie Maran Argan Oil is a must have. “It’s a great product to own because it is multifunctional, you can use it for your hair. It’s also free of parabens, no toxins, cruelty free and it’s non irritating which is a plus for all skin types.”
Another Josie Maran favourite for Michelle this month is the Argan creamy concealer crayon. “I live by this product. It’s very creamy, hydrating and provides great coverage”. One thing Michelle recommends though, because of the consistency of the product, apply a powder afterwards as the product will crease.
Keeping in line with cosmetics, Michelle then shows me her Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick. “It’s a great product to own and is available at Sephora in a wide variety of colours. It’s also paraben free, fragrance free, sulfate free and free of synthetic dye- which is hard to come across for lip products.”

It’s anti bacterial and is great for blemishes. It helps reduce the redness, throbbing and drys out the pimple completely. You’ll see results instantly and it’s also inexpensive which is a plus for me.”
I was excited when I saw Michelle reveal this product because I use their moisturizer but little did I know that they also had a Thermal Spring Water. “It’s great for hydrating your face, rashes and burns. It’s also gentle on children, I use it on Emma sometimes. Any thermal water spray is a great investment.”
“This was a product that I was on hunt for while I was pregnant. Witchcraft was one of the only brands that I could find that were free of formaldehyde and DBP. These ingredients are harmful to inhale- especially when pregnant. It comes in sets that include almond oil, a protein hardener and a 4 in 1 formula that acts as a smoothing base coat, strengthener, growth activators and gloss top coat. It’s long lasting and REALLY does the job.”
Staring at this product, I couldn’t help but think it was too pretty to use heh. Michelle grabs the product and immediately smells it and asks me to take a whiff too. AMAZING. “Live Clean is great for colour treated hair- especially reds. I also use the conditioner. I mainly use it because it’s sulfate free and organic. It’s available at your local drug store and walmart/target.”
And last but not least, Michelle’s new Winner’s discovery: Blum naturals Face Wipes. “It’s gentle enough to use daily and as a makeup remover. It’s gentle enough for your eyes too and is free of parabens and synthetic preservatives. The only down fall is that I’ve only seen them at Winner’s which we all know is a hit and miss when trying to re-purchase products but they are also available online. It has a lovely cucumber smell and aloe vera extracts- lots of great things about this product”.
Sitting down with Michelle and being exposed to this products really was an eye opener. “It’s hard to be 100% natural especially as a makeup love but I do what I can. It’s funny how only when you are pregnant do you realize how limited you are with the products that you use. If it’s not safe for the baby I am carrying, how safe could it be for me? I am more conscience now of the products that I purchase now.”
We are too! Amodachic would like to thank Michelle for her time and we can’t wait to see what great future favourite products she’ll have in store for us.
