“Why we adore her” is back for more! It’s funny, when I first came up with the idea to launch the WWAH series, I had a mental list of impending guests I wanted to feature on the blog, T being one of them.
Proud to introduce our second guest of the series: Tania Da Cunha, my cousin and bestest of friend. Often referred to as T, Tania is a young professional who always looks effortlessly well put together and has an impeccable taste of style. Usually in touch with her feminine side,
Tania is typically spotted sporting gorgeous articles of clothing that often leave us asking “where did you get that from?”
Today we dig deep to find out if Tania’s style is influenced by anyone, is she a trend follower and does her profession allow her to instill her personal style?
A: Well we must begin with the most important question of all, what is your most favourite item in you closet right now?
T: Hands down, my zara leggings. These are the most comfortable pair of leggings I have ever owned. The zipper detailing allows me to dress it up but because of their stretchy material I can dress them down. Stretchy pants are a gals best friend!
A: haha I agree. Tell us, what is the oldest piece of clothing you have in your closet that you still wear? – and be honest!
T: Well, if you must ask it’s my denim button up shirt from garage. It’s from high school (shhh) I am surprised that this is in such great shape! It’s starting to rip though!
A: Do you own any items that you are iffy about wearing or unsure about?
T: Hmmm. I would have to say my black forever 21 high waisted faux leather shorts. I’m iffy about them because it can go completely sideways if styled wrong. Leather shorts, especially high waisted can be tricky to wear. I have a few combinations in mind, hopefully it will work!
Only a miniscule of Tania’s accessory collection, I picked out some of my favourite pieces.
A: I see you have a lot of accessories, how do you accessorize your outfits, any
methods?
T: Yes I have a lot but mostly gold accessories, I love it. I don’t have much of method, I just simply follow some rules of my own. If I wear a statement necklace, I pair it with a dainty bracelet. I try not to be too bulky with everything, if one thing is bold, the rest are dainty and simple.
A: Touche! Although we are still fighting the winter weather, are you excited for any spring 2014 trends? Do you personally follow any trends?
T: Ugh tell me about it. I’m excited for this weather to end and to start wearing my sandals.
I personally follow seasonal trends, ones that reoccur with seasons but I always like to grab
a couple of things that are “in” for each season. I’m most excited for floral prints and to finally wear some bright colours.
A: Speaking of trends, any that you regret sporting as a teen or adult?
T: Not many, I mean they were fashionable at the time but if I have to choose, I would say the denim skirts with leggings, that was horrible haha.

Tania in one of our night out outfits, looking gorgeous as always
A: Yup we were major offenders! But on a lighter note, does anyone or anything
influence your sense of style?
T: Yes! The Kardashians, well actually just Kourtney (hids behind her palms). I love her sense of style. She is always well put together, very classy and her outfits always look sophisticated and clean. I love her.
A: Ms. Da Cunha, as a teacher, do you find it hard to incorporate your sense of style into your work attire?
T: Absolutely not! For the most part I am free to wear what I want. I love to dress up, I dress up any chance I get and being a teacher allows me to put together beautiful outfits. Mind you, I need to skip the heels but for the most part, I am good to go.
A: I’ve been shopping with you plenty of times and it’s no secret you rarely try on your clothes, why is that? Haha.
T: haha, Oh man. Good question, why don’t I? For one I don’t want to over think what I am buying and I know myself, if I try it on I will over analyze the piece and probably end up leaving it behind. Secondly I love shopping but I like shopping fast. If I see something I love, I grab it and go. If I try it on at home, I have many options to pull the outfit together so I don’t get discourage but of course I pay attention to the return and exchange policies, just in case ;).
A: Good strategy, I’ll try it one day! After this interview we are going out for a night on the town, can you put together an outfit me?
T:
I love flowy tops so of course I had to pick one for this outfit. I added the fur vest due to its versatility, it also adds texture and well it’s cold outside. The leggings have a shine to them which pulls together the overall look. I accessorized with some statement pieces, a bold gold necklace, a small chained rose gold bracelet, no rings, no earrings and black booties with a gold buckle.
A: Love the outfit, can I wear it? Hehe, Well, that concludes our interview my love, any last words or thoughts for our amodachic readers?
T: I hope you all enjoyed it! Thanks for having me as your guest here. I just want to remind us ladies to remain unique, wear what makes you happy and what you feel most comfortable in. As Yves St Laurent said, “fashions fade, style is eternal!”
Thank you all for reading our Why we adore her segment, we truly enjoy finding out
what influences our fashion forward ladies. We thank Tania for her participation and being a great sport. Cheers 🙂
