To Review or Not to Review ?

product_reviewYou’ve finally received the attention from brands that you’ve longed for as a blogger and now you are stuck in the big SSS (sticky sponsored situation). You received a product or products that for lack of a better term, “doesn’t meet your standards” and now your honest review buds need to kick in. The question now remains, to review or not to review?

Firstly, remaining true to your followers and yourself is the single most important thing you can do as a blogger. Next you need to figure out ho to approach this situation without looking like heartless individual or a cash cow. The solutions are simple:

1. Shed light on the good and speak about the bad
Part of being a blogger is being a researcher. Take apart that product from top to bottom, inside and out. Write a list of the pros and the cons of the product, still providing an honest opinion without sounding harsh- just realistic. No need to slander or be rude, be informative and simply explain on how this wasn’t right for you. Provide constructive criticism on how the brand can improve the product in your eyes and why they should stick to doing what they are doing well  (the pros).

2. It’s not you, it’s the product
So how to avoid cheap viagra the bad side effects of these male enhancement products. People suffering from high BP, low BP, heart disease, diabetes generic overnight viagra must consult their doctor at least once before taking the medicine. GET REAL, ANY brand levitra in usa business worth it’s while, will need hard work and dedication, and will take time to shop around and find the perfect deal. The findings suggest that signs of reduced sexual drives occur years before the development canadian cialis pharmacy of erectile dysfunction, which can be declined with a healthy and nutritional breakfast. You’ve analyzed the situation both from a personal and business perspective and decided that you and your followers won’t benefit in any way from this review. You can now provide the company a detailed e-mail declining their offer to review their product. Remember to remain professional and provide a polite simple response.

3. Review the cons and provide insight
You’ve analyzed the situation and although there are no pros you personally believe that your viewers should be aware of the cons. “Brand X has a formula that can cause sensitive skin to break out” or “the hardware of curling wand ABC is poor quality and isn’t worth X amount of dollars in my opinion”. Brands take a risk sending products to bloggers / youtubers for review and part of taking that risk is receiving a not so positive review. As a blogger, your duty is to remain true to your followers and not sugar coat everything. The company may mention that they do not want a review if the product is not right for you, if that is the case- respect their request.

As a blogger and an avid Youtube viewer of the beauty community, I personally wished more people would do reviews that weren’t always in glory of the brand. Don’t be afraid to express your opinion on a product or service that has approached you. You are simply just providing an opinion, one that may benefit them at the end of the day.
