How To: Get Rid Of Dark Underarms

It’s a topic that many of us may find uncomfortable to chat about but it’s one of those that we must talk about. Many women suffer from dark underarms and it could be as a result of multiple factors. Shaving, dead cells, sweat and due to our deodorants or anti antiperspirants. Let’s be real, our armpits don’t get much love but that’s all about to change. Let’s get these bad boys summer ready!

Exfoliate + Scrub
IMG_2654
Just getting rid of dead skin cells can do the trick. I use two types of exfoliatation techniques. A more gentle approach for daily and more ‘stern’ approach for the once a week regimes. I’ll use a light exfoliate product and scrub with a loofah every time I bathe. I’ll use a tougher scrub such as this natural tree pad and exfoliate.  Be gentle, don’t go too rough under the arm pits as it’s a delicate and sensitive spot.

Want a more natural approach? Create your own mix with raw brown sugar + honey + egg.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is great for many reasons. One, is it can help lighten dark skin after a period of time. It’s gentle and smells great. Use a teaspoon per armpit and massage. Rinse with warm water + a mild soap and pat dry. Or rinse during your shower.

Inhibits cancerous tumor growth Plethora of medical sale of sildenafil tablets studies illustrate that anti-cancer properties of American ginseng has made it easy for the people to order their required sexual pills right from their home without asking for their doctor’s appointment. There is no doubt buy viagra overnight that sex is vital to marriage. One gathering of dysfunctional behaviors best viagra pills is focused on genuine despondency. Mental stress, packed work schedule cialis price canada and physical stress can the overall health of a person. Potato + Potato Juice
IMG_2661

You may have used a couple of potato slices under your dark circles or puff eyes in the past. Luckily for us, the potato is so versatile and has tons of benefits when it comes to our skin. One of them being that it is a natural whitening agent and gentle which is great for sensitive skin.  Rub thinly sliced potatoes under your arms for 5-10 minutes or grate the potato and squeeze the juice out and then apply. Let the juice sit for 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water and a milk soap and pat dry.

What you’ll notice: Potato stench. I tend to do this before a bath or shower to get rid of the starchy potato smell.

Baking Soda + Water
Baking soda is a great way to help remove odor and remove dead skin cells. Make your own baking soda paste with a couple of table spoons and a few drops of water until you get a paste consistency. Apply, rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Many of these home remedies require daily use and consistency if you want to see results. These are all natural, safe solutions that I have personally tried and that have worked wonders for me. Hope these can help you ladies 🙂

Jaja Spa Q&A

JajaMain
When you walk into Jaja, you’re greeted by two sweet smiles from the young duo Kayla and Jacqueline- founders and owners of the mesmerizing spa. When my nail lady Linda decided to move her career to Vancouver, I was devastated and in a panic to find a new salon. During my overwhelming search, I was finding myself unhappy after every nail appointment and at the brink of rerouting my career choice. Amodachic- nail lady (ha!).

IMG_2489When I first went to Jaja, my face lit up. I had to take in how adorable the space was. Bright, chic, feminine, clean, it was perfect. But, the spa itself was not what had me coming back. It was the cleanliness, the service and the ladies. I couldn’t help wanting to know more about the duo and how Jaja all started. Yesterday I had the utmost pleasure sitting down with the two gals, chatting about the spa, them and the future. Enjoy and happy reading!

IMG_2485Amodachic: At what moment did you decide to take Jaja spa from a vision to reality?
Kayla & Jacqueline: It has always been an idea, something we’ve wanted since before high school. We officially decided to move forward with the idea last summer. We had a moment in our lives where we were thinking about what are we going to do with our careers, what are we passionate about and it just made sense to open our own salon.

A: Where did the name Jaja come from?
J: My niece always called me Jaja as she could never pronounce my full name. So it stuck. Jaja is also very girly and ritzy- it just fit.

IMG_2492A: How is it working with a close friend of many years? How does it change from a personal friendship to a business relationship now too?
K&J: We love it. Our relationship is very natural and as friends and business partners we communicate very well. We balance each other out too which is a plus.

A: What is the most important lesson that being entrepreneur has taught you guys?
K&J: Making sure you still maintain your vision and to keep a positive mind-always. Anything can be fixed, you just have to let it not get to you. You have to learn and grow from everything.

FullSizeRenderA: What do you think sets Jaja apart from other spas and salons?
K&J: We like to keep it real. We believe in ourselves, our products and our services and it shows. We like to treat our clients as friends and make them feel comfortable and at home. We also provide private party services for events!

A: What are your favourite nail trends of 2015?
K&J: Obviously bows (haha!) In terms of colours, lots of pastels, salmon and peach colours. Pinky and/or pointing finger becoming the new accent finger and having different designs on each nail.

IMG_2482 IMG_2504A: What is the most important at home nail care tip you can tell us?
K&J: Don’t pick off your shellac!
A: Guilty as charged (haha!)
K&J: That and always carry a nail filer. You never know when you get a chip and you need a quick fix. Also, having cuticle ointment at the side of your bed and using it before you sleep. It’s great for the nails and best to use at night as the oils can be greasy.

A: How do you determine which products you use and sell at the salon?
K&J: A lot of it is personal preference. We’ve used all of the products we have here at the salon and fell in love with it. We also research products to see how popular they are and what others are saying about it. But mostly, it’s personal preference. We won’t carry anything in the salon if we don’t love it.

IMG_2476 IMG_2478 IMG_2498A: It’s no surprise the decor here is beautiful, was it hard to compromise styles and how did you do come up with the salon vision?
K&J: It was very easy to combine our decor style for the salon because we had the same vision. We had a colour scheme picked out and everything. A lot of what you see here at Jaja was custom made. Our pedicure and manicure station, we even had Jacqueline’s mom paint our product display.
[side note: amodachic loves the product display hehe]

IMG_2483
A: What is the future of Jaja spa and what do you want potential clients to know about you
?
K&J: We want to expand for sure. We don’t want to leave or change Jaja because this is our baby but perhaps franchise or open up additional locations. Maybe even have a blow bar in some!

We want people out there to know that we offer a different experience. We are here to pamper you and make you feel welcomed.

And that ladies and gents concludes our Q&A with the ladies of Jaja spa. I cannot wait to take mom on Sunday for our full service Mother’s day pampering! And please, don’t forget to check out their loyalty section for monthly promotions and offers.

Stay chic meninas 🙂

White vs Black Eye Liner

WhiteVsBlackI still remember the first time I used black eye liner. It was for the grade 6 Halloween dance and all the girls had glittered lids, cherry lips and rosy cheeks. I recall wanting to add “drama” to my cat look and picked up my classmates eye liner (obviously pre knowledge of knowing not to share eye liners). I then proceeded to copy her motion of vigorous sweeping motions across my waterline. It was instant when I fell in love with black eye liner and the look it gave me but I only came back to the idea of using it years later.

Only in my adult life did begin to use white eye liner. But not a day goes by that I do not get asked the question “what is the difference between the two and what’s the point of white eye liner”? So that brings us to today’s post on the difference between white and black eye liner and when to use them.

NyxVsLoreal whiteeyeliner_blackeyeliner (2)
For the purpose of today’s post, I’m using NYX Retractable White Liner and my favourite black eye liner, L’oreal Smoldering liner. I have yet to find “the one” when it comes to white liners, this one has been so far the best but I am not yet sold on re-purchasing it again. I am a fan of the pigmentation and how well it glides onto the waterline – hence why I still use it.

NoEyeliner
So here is moi pre eye liner. Pending on the look and what I want to achieve will determine which eye liner I will use.

Black Eye Liner:
– Sultry and dramatic looks
– Smokey eye
– When I want to draw attention to my eye
– Help intensify a darker eyeshadow colour
– Narrow in and create a more defined look
The name of the medicine comes from the unification of vitalis and order generic cialis Niagara words. These also interfere with the working of Tadalafil of buy cheap levitra valsonindia.com. This buy generic viagra check out over here will give you the total amount of money that is acquired by Treasury from the wealthy. Erectile dysfunction (ED) cialis for cheap refers to the inability to develop or maintain an erection with the penis sufficient for satisfactory intercourse activity. – Black eye liner will give the illusion that your eyes are smaller than they are. Think of black clothes and how it makes you look more thin- the same thing with black eye liner. It narrows in, creates shadows therefore making the eye look smaller.

White Eye Liner:
– Open up and brighten my eyes
– White eye liner will give the illusion that your eyes are larger
– To highlight inner corner or water liner
– Used more during the day for simple looks and with neutral eye shadow tones
– For thin defined lines and detail

You can clearly see the difference between the two. The white eye liner looks more natural, my eye stands out more because it appears LARGER. The black eye liner may draw in more attention  but only because it is dark and intensifies the eye. It still makes the eye more narrow and dramatic.

My pick? It all depends on the day. I love the effortless look the white eye liner can do for my eyes but I love sultry, vampy looks which is why I usually reach for the black eye liner.

So ladies, which is your favourite and why?
