Spring Jewellery Trends 2014

What was great about the last couple of seasons in terms of jewellery trends is that there weren’t any rules to follow. It was though there was an understanding that “everything goes”. Dainty could be mixed with statement pieces, gold and silver apparently could live in harmony on one wrist, textures were mingling together and colours of all shades were coexisting. It’s no wonder some of us looked like we just couldn’t make up our minds ;).

So has any of that changed for spring 2014? Well, let’s take a look.

Links, Chain & More Links

We have slowly been exposed to links and chains of all shapes, sizes and colours. This spring, they are here to stay. I am thrilled to see this trend extend into the warmer weather as I find links can turn a dull outfit into something grande. It can add sophistication if the texture and size are right and at the same time can add an edginess to a casual outfit.

Bold shapes and saturation

Think literal shapes, overload and fullness this spring. Bracelets, necklaces and rings will still have that “statement” appeal to it but the designs may look more childlike.

Gems, Crystals and Bedazzled

As embellishments make trademarks on our attire this spring, our accessories felt the need to hop on the band wagon. Beautifully executed pieces that make simple outfits look rich and bold. Gems and crystals being mixed with different textures to give diversity and contrast to our looks.

Although in Canada we are smack dab in the middle of the coldest winter weather yet, we like to be optimistic up here. So with that derives the spring trends 2014 post. Lots of recycled trends, some with minor tweaks and some new ones to help zest things up. I of course, cannot wait for the warm weather to approach and scoping the spring trend reports online, it makes me feel like it is one season too far away.

Crop Tops
No surprise here. I mean, did this trend even leave the season? Bare midriffs are making
a statement and have no intentions of leaving the closet soon.

Another trend that has no means of leaving our wardrobe but taking a turn for spring
2014. Prepare to see less full sheer pieces and more hints of sheer plus a sporty and
